Inbound Calls vs. Live Transfers for Insurance Agencies
Inbound calls ring straight to your agents. Live transfers are screened by an intake team first. How each works for final expense, auto, home and Medicare agencies, and how to choose.
Key takeaways
- An inbound call rings straight through to your agents' line from ads and publisher traffic matched to your criteria.
- A live transfer is screened by an intake team against your criteria, then transferred while the caller is still on the line.
- RingOnDemand delivers both for final expense, auto, home and Medicare, and you pay per call.
- Every caller goes through the same intake script, from our own ads or our vetted publisher network.
Insurance agencies buying calls choose between two formats. An inbound call rings straight through to your agents' line from ads and publisher traffic matched to your criteria. A live transfer is screened by an intake team against your criteria first, then transferred to your agents while the caller is still on the line. RingOnDemand delivers both for final expense, auto, home and Medicare, and you pay per call.
Inbound calls vs. live transfers at a glance
| Inbound calls | Live transfers | |
|---|---|---|
| How the call arrives | Rings straight through to your agents' line | Transferred by our intake team while the caller is on the line |
| Who screens | Callers match your criteria from our ads and publisher network | Our intake team screens every caller against your criteria |
| Best for | Agencies that want callers straight to their agents | Agencies that want every caller screened first |
| How you pay | Per call | Per call |
Both come from the same sources: our own ads plus a vetted publisher network. Every caller, from either source, goes through the same intake script before they reach your agents.
What gets checked for each line of insurance?
You set the criteria for each line, and we write them into the intake script. Typical checks:
- Final expense: the caller is inside the age range you write, lives in a state your agents are licensed in, wants a coverage amount you offer, and has a way to pay premiums, such as a bank account or card.
- Auto insurance: the caller lives in a state or ZIP code you write, has a valid driver's license, has a number of vehicles and drivers inside your limits, is currently insured or not, as you choose, and has a driving history that fits the rules you set.
- Home insurance: the caller owns the home, the property is in a state or ZIP code you write, the property type is one you cover, and the caller needs coverage inside the window you pick.
- Medicare: the caller is eligible for Medicare, lives in a county where your plans are offered, is calling during an enrollment period you work, and wants to talk to a licensed agent now.
Add anything else you want to the script. If a caller fails one of your questions, we do not send them to you and you do not pay for them.
How do you choose between inbound calls and live transfers?
- Choose inbound calls if your agents are ready to take calls directly and you want callers to reach them straight from the ad.
- Choose live transfers if you want our intake team to screen every caller against your criteria before your agents spend a minute on the call.
Either way, calls go to your agents' line during the hours you set.
What do you need to start?
The phone number that receives the calls, the hours you take them, and a daily cap. Calls can usually start within 24 hours of the signed order, and there is no recurring volume commitment: you buy an order, we deliver it, and you reorder when you want more.
